The Republican presidential candidates faced each other for the 2016 election cycle debate held by Fox News in Des Moines on January 28, 2016. All the other candidates were present except for the party’s frontrunner, Donald Trump, due to his ongoing feud with Fox News. Trump aired his grievances about the network and its debate moderator Megyn Kelly for being biased against him. During the debate, the candidates focused on Trump and then took on each other. Each Republican presidential candidate was given an opportunity to tell Iowans why they should be chosen as the Republican candidate for presidency. They did not attack their fellow candidates, but the Democratic candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton and President Barack Obama as well. They stressed how Obama changed the country for the wo

Gameloft launches first West African office in Lagos and this is what it means to me

News, Technology: General
I got to know Gameloft back when I would steal my brother's Nokia 6600 Symbian smartphone, hide away in the backyard or under the staircase, launch Real Football 2003 and then play one full match or less before he notices his phone is missing and then angrily calls for me by full name "Somtoochukwu!". Somtoo would quietly return the handset and almost immediately start plotting when next to launch yet another ambush. Don't ask me how I get the phone's security codes each time the owner changes it - don't please. Right now, I could take the next flight to Johannesburg to share my teenage stories with Gameloft developers over a cup of coffee but that won't be necessary - the company had just opened a new office in Lagos State, here in Nigeria. "The opening of a new trade office in Africa ...

Why can’t Nigeria have a strong advertising regulatory body like South Africa?

Business, Technology: General
Let me tell you what happened in South Africa. Vodacom, one of the biggest mobile service providers in the country, ran a commercial which shows a pastor on his way to a wedding he was scheduled to minister on. Along the way, pastor's car runs out of fuel. Being in a rural area, pastor can't get fuel anywhere close, however, thanks to Vodacom's 4G "coverage" in the area, he was able to connect to the wedding venue and joined bride and groom as husband and wife via video call -- all thanks to Vodacom's 4G coverage in the rural area. The ad enjoyed massive airplay on TV and on the Internet: Now, a user who found the ad non amusing and misleading -- knowing that there's hardly anything like Vodacom 4G coverage in rural areas -- reports the commercial to SA's ASA which  means Advertising Sta

For the records, MTN was fined $5.2bn by the NCC over the non registration/invalid registration of 5.1 million active SIM cards on the MTN network. The fine was later adjusted to $3.9bn fol

Talking about the specs, the Zero 3 drives its points home with an ample Su...
