Airtel partners with Wari to provide Nigerians with a payment platform

Leading telecommunication company, Airtel Nigeria, has announced its collaboration with Wari, a payment solution provider, to create an innovative payment platform for Nigerians.

The collaboration allows subscribers to pay for goods and services, pay bills, deposit cash,buy airtime and also make withdrawals within and outside the country. The platform can also be used to transfer money and remit through accredited agents within Nigeria. This service is available to anyone whether one is an account holder or not. To use this service, subscribers and non-subscribers of Airtel can visit any designated Wari agent and request for the service. The agent will facilitate the transaction on the customer’s behalf. Both agent and customer will receive confirmation alerts when the transaction is carried out.

This collaboration with Airtel will strengthen Wari’s presence in the different local government areas in Nigeria and increase access to financial services of various institution.Waricurrently has a presence in 23 African countries and also partners with licensed commercial banks in the continent using the brand name ‘Wari.

This is, also, Airtel Nigeria’s contribution towards the federal government effort to increase financial inclusion in the country and make payment also accessible and convenient to millions of Nigerians. Airtel Nigeria is expected, as part of the partnership, to identify agents across the country for the purpose of providing the service.
