Whatsapp is one of the most widely used Instant Messaging apps in the world, however, in a bid to better improve services, the app has recieved several updates in the past with the latest update being the message retract or delete feature.
The message delete feature is however available for up to 7 minutes after the message is sent which might not be enough time for some persons.
In case you are one of those and wish to retract messages sent even after the said 7 minutes, here are a fre steps which have been proven effective in recalling sent messages.
Turn off all Internet connection on your device, be it WiFi or Mobile data then head straight to the Settings panel on your phone.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Apps > Whatsapp > and Force Stop the application by tapping on the Force Stop option right beside the Uninstall option.
Once Step 2 has been completed, proceed to the Settings option again and disable the automatic Date & time update feature on your phone.
Step 4: Proceed to change both the date and time on your smartphone to the time when the message you wish to delete was sent.
In case you forget the date and time you sent the message, go to your WhatsApp chat for confirmation through the date and time stamps.
Step 5: Proceed to delete the message once Steps 1 through to Step 4 has been completed.
Deleting the message can be done by pressing and holding the desired message for some seconds after which the delete option with two choices, ‘Delete For Me’ and ‘Delete For Everyone’ will pop up. Choose the latter option then proceed to set your phone’s date and time back to its current format.
