Facebook is testing dedicated e-commerce features on its social networking platform

Facebook used to be just where you went to after work to post to friends how stressful the day was, or where you’d go to add up a long time friend, or even, showcase your Sunday best / like someone’s Sunday best. Right now, Facebook is planning to be so much more than right now, and users are in for a spin.

The app that just got upgraded to its 38.0 version is being tested as a shopping tool. This would allow the users of facebook to shop, place orders and buy things all through their Facebook apps. Not only that, Facebook wishes to do their own thing in style by making sure that the app would catalogue the same wares from different retailers and list it under just one section, giving you the buyer a lot of choices to pick from.

What’s more? The app would allow the online retailers themselves to host their full catalogues on the Facebook page, eliminating the need to go to a mobile browser for whatever link to full articles they might have created.

The Facebook app would also help young and entry-level entrepreneurs announce themselves faster as it hopes to features a lot of awesome characteristics which include but are not limited to in-app purchases, carousel product ads and shopping sections. With this, they do not need a website or app anymore. Facebook has covered it all.
