SeedStars World, as we all know, is that startup agency that is currently going all around the world with the aim of investing in Startups and choosing outstanding start-ups from each of the 52 countries that it would be visiting. These outstanding members would then go on to become global representatives of their respective countries.
The Tanzanian leg of the Seedstars World startup competition is already underway after Seedstars has been to other notable African countries likewise. The event, which has seen 10 finalists emerge, would then be organized to choose one out of these ten that would bear the Tanzanian flag at the grand finale in Geneva of Switzerland.
The startups that have been short listed are Time Tickets, Tango TV, Mbezi Recycling, Lemon, Juabar, Kaliko, Guumzo, Agrinfo, East Africa Fruit Farms & Co and Edu-Taarifa.
A 2-day boot camp which would run from the 3rd to the 5th of November would be organized for these startups where they would be under the right mentorship and most ideal environment for testing and trying their startups and as well, learning. The boot camp would also feature access to key industry players, industry experts and a host of media houses too.
These finalists will get a chance to pitch their ideas to a well seasoned panel of judges with the winner (a sole winner) getting the chance to represent their country against other regional winners, each eyeing the grand prize of $1.5 million.
