Following Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay, LG will launch G Pay

Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay — you thought we are done with mobile-based payment services? Guess not. Expect G Pay from Korean tech giant LG Electronics soon.

Sources in South Korea suggest that LG is working on a new payment system that will challenge Samsung Pay with support for non NFC-based payments. The LG service will also help in placing more competition in a mobile payment market that is already getting saturated.

LG has a running history of “following up” fellow Koreans Samsung’s latest innovations. The Samsung Pay is probably not going to be left out at such.

Although details are still sketchy, it is believed that LG’s G Pay will break cover in the South Korea and the United States in the coming months. The service will also expectedly make use of fingerprint authentication in enabled smartphones.
