Instagram, one of the most common social networking apps, announced that it will allow advertisers to run various video ad campaign targeting specific users within the platform.
Instagram mentioned in their business blog, that many businesses have already started to use text and image based Instagram advertisement services as one of the main communication channels to deliver business content to consumers. According to the blog, the ad feature has proven as a strong branding for the companies, as 97 percent of them has got good effects and have gone for ad recall.
Instagram says that from September 30, users will be able to place video ads as well as landscape image ads. The new options include:
- Landscape photo and video to unlock new creative opportunities and give ads a more cinematic feel
- 30 seconds Video ads, so brands can engage in richer storytelling
- Marquee, a new premium product that helps drive mass awareness and expanded reach in a short time-frame—perfect for events like movie premieres and new product launches
- Campaigns across Facebook and Instagram, delivery and optimization tools to manage and drive the best ad performance.
Facebook bought Instagram 3 years ago for a billion US dollars but in 2014, the total number of monthly active users on Instagram surpassed that of Twitter.
