Not long ago, we brought to you the details of the eleven lucky start-ups that made it to the final round of the Angolan Leg of the SeedStars World Competition which held in Luanda. Well, the finals for Angola has been held and of the 11, one has emerged the overall winner while two others have been named the first and second runners-up.
To the competition, Jobartis, which has been launched as an online job portal, took home the major spoils as it came first in the race. The second was Bitfyr – a platform that has been created to enable the buying, selling and promotion of events ticket while in third place was none other than ProxyPay, which is an online platform for receipt of payments in Kwanzas. The public prize went to a socially responsible fashion store called Soba. Soba also offers branded clothing and accessories.
Jobartis coming first in this competition implies that it would be the Angolan flagbearer at the grand finale which is scheduled to hold in Geneva of Switzerland at a yet to be disclosed date, standing a chance to win the much coveted $1.5 million prize.
For Africa, the competition has held in all of Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Ivory Coast to mention but a few.
