The Seedstars World Competition has hosted its Tanzanian leg after visiting a nice lot of African countries likewise and a winner has been chosen in that region. Seedstars World is faced with the task of identifying startups around the world, bringing them together and giving them the necessary encouragement needed to launch them out there into the world.
The Tanzanian leg of the competition saw none other than Juabar Tanzania Limited emerge the overall winner of this regional contest. Juabar is a start-up that is based on the use of solar energy for mobile charging. The finals of the Tanzanian leg took place on the 5th of November, this 2015 and the event held at the Buni Innovation Hub which is situated in the Tanzanian Commission of Science and Technology building.
On the night of the finals, 11 different startups came out to do pitching battles against one another in which Juabar came out victorious. The 11 finalists are Tickets, Tango TV, Mbezi Recycling, Lemon, Juabar, Kaliko, Guumzo, Agrinfo, East Africa Fruit Farms & Co and Edu-Taarifa.
Coming closely behind on the night in second place was Mbezi which is a recycling system for the re-use of products and less pollution of our environment while the start-up that offers streaming service for local content, Tango TV, wrapped up the top three.
