The fifth edition of LG’s iconic “G” series could hit the shelves towards the end of next month, our sources have revealed. Named the LG G5, this year’s model is out to take on whatsoever flagship smartphone Samsung has produced in 2016. No, literally – an LG executive who spoke to Korean Times assured fans that this time, “LG Electronics is ready to take on Samsung.”
The LG G5 will be out on 21st of February. “A day ahead of the official opening of the Mobile World Congress, LG plans to unveil a new flagship mobile via a press event,” the LG executive said on Friday.
In terms of hardware, GSMArena reports that LG will employ a 5.6-inch quad HD touchscreen display, 4GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and 64GB of in-built storage to power the G5. Safe to say, this catalog of high-end specs (if true anyway), should be able to lure some Samsung fans (who are notably known to be pleased with high specifications) to the G5 way when the handset breaks cover.
Samsung on the other hand, via a press release sent out to media outfits earlier this week, has made known its intentions of officially unveiling the Galaxy S7 during the MWC in February .
