Microsoft and MDX-i launch pay-as-you-go cloud service for small-scale Nigerian companies

Another feather was added to the MDX–i’s crown, when it launched a new cloud based service in collaboration with Microsoft to provide an environment for private computing that will benefit different small local companies in Internet operations. MDX-i, is a subsidiary of MainOne datacenter outfit.

According to the company’s sources, the new service will work as its tier III data center and the basic structure of this service is designed on the basis of Microsoft Azure’s grade infrastructure. They also said that this service will follow the pay-as-you-go basis, which means that it will provide cloud storage to companies respective to the amount paid by each client.

Rob Lever, business development executive of MDX-i, said that the business’ virtual data centers, virtual private servers and virtual LANs will be of very affordable prices.

Said he: “The new cloud platform is a scalable and cost effective alternative to dedicated computing resources deployed in-house by companies.”

Before it’s collaboration with Microsoft, MDX-I was already the first and only data center with two certifications from PCI DSS and ISO 27001 in Nigeria.
