Mobile Telecommunications Network, popularly known as MTN, is gaining new heights everyday and is not even stopping on the ladder for anyone else to catch up. Just recently awarded the Overall Best Organization by the HR Focus Awards 2015, MTN has added another feather to its cap in Ghana by attaining a subscriber base of 15 million users.
In 2006, MTN had just 2.5 million subscribers to its credit and since then, the network has continued to grow steadily over various reforms, policies and innovations to bring it where it has reached today. Having a total investment of over $2.5 billion in Ghana alone nationwide since 2006, the leading mobile telecommunications brand in Ghana had set a plan for itself in establishing as the best brand there is in the country and has worked diligently to that effect.
This feat did not go uncelebrated by MTN who held its 15 Millionth Customer Celebration in Accra of Ghana where the brand’s Ghana CEO, Mr Ebenezer Twum Asante said “MTN as a leader in the telecomms industry recognizes its role in
making the right investments to support the ever changing
demands of this customer, underscored by its vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to its customers”
“In addition to all of the above, we are also focused on giving back to our communities. MTN Foundation’s sustained CSR investments have resulted in 102 major projects since 2007 with an investment of over GHS 21 million and impacted more than three million people directly and indirectly,” he added
MTN loyalists at the event did not go home totally empty handed as there were numerous prizes won – phones, gadgets and souvenirs, all aimed at marking the 15th Million customer celebration.
