MTN Group has signed a ‘multi-year’ agreement with Ericsson to adopt Ericsson’s Order to Cash suite.
Ericsson’s Order to Cash suite is a solution that consists of Charging System, Ericsson Multi Mediation and Multi Activation software. It will be deployed in all MTN networks, thereby standardizing customer experience of its products and services in all the markets where it is operational.
The agreement also means that Ericsson, a Swedish multinational telecom company will be responsible for replacing all legacy infrastructures with its solution, and managing as well as operating this suite of products to ensure the benefits are achieved across all MTN operations globally.
“The new Ericsson Charging System will enable a host of new services like catalogue orchestrated charging, flexible refill and community charging, among several other different voice and data offerings for MTN’s over 200 million prepaid customers,” said Jyoti Desai, Group CTIO MTN.
“Multi Mediation supports the retrieval and processing of user data from all network nodes, so that such data can be made available to the relevant IT back-end systems and billed in real-time. Multi Activation provides MTN with fully automated real-time fulfilment capabilities,” Desai added.
MTN Group, a South African multinational telecommunications company has been partnering with Ericsson since 1996.
