MultiChoice, a foremost player in Nigeria’s satellite TV industry, has decided to provide training to about 500 Nigerian youths in the trade of installing and maintaining digital TV systems. The move is basically an attempt to provide optimum services to consumers while creating massive employment in the country.
MultiChoice has examined the issue of indigenous trained manpower and has stressed on tackling the lump to boost customer services and offer a push to reach more-than-satisfactory levels in the system.
The firm has also introduced tricycle vehicles that will come handy with high quality installation equipment. These will aid installers during travels.
The GM of marketing department at Multichoice Nigeria, Mr. Martin Mabutho said that the introduction of tricycles will stretch its economic empowerment by motivating Nigerian youth to join this private sector entrepreneurial idea. As of now, the tricycles will be issued to a selected panel of ‘Elite Installers’.
Stressing on the training program, Mabutho said about 125 installers in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt have enrolled their names to join this refresher course.
“This initiative is aimed at providing the best service to our customers. We train and certify installers, and also ensure that they are equipped with high quality installation tools that will guarantee reduced hitches and minimize repeat installer visits to our customer’s homes,” Mabutho explained.
Besides providing tricycles, emphasize is also given on kits. Each installer will be given a well-equipped tool kit to enable them in delivering quality installation services to customers.
