Netflix is a video streaming service that allows you stay in touch with and watch your favorite movies and films every month on payment of a standard subscription plan. Netflix has been around for quite a while now and its not word of the tongue only to say that they’ve made a name for themselves in the type of video rental service they offer.
Now, the issue Netflix used to have is that of reach. As awesome as this platform is, Netflix was not in Africa and every time you tried to use it, you would get a message from the developers (Roku) which reads “Sorry. Netflix is not available in your country yet”. This is a kind of bad news as it feels like we Africans are missing out on what the rest of the world is enjoying.
It then came as a surprise and big relief to us when it was discovered that the error message it displays has now become something that gives hope, telling us to expect Netflix in Africa soon. So, instead of getting the message as shown above, you get a message like “Good News! Netflix will be coming soon to this part of the world. Stay tuned!”
Africans can now rejoice and gladly anticipate the coming of Netflix which is properly managed, will change the face of movie rentals.
Netflix has named South Africa has one of its global expansion plans and the service is set to debut in the country early in 2016, according to speculations.
