Nine South African startups to battle for top spot in “Get In The Ring” contest

Its time for startups to take their pitching battles to the ring, and this time, it would be nine startups from South Africa that would be doing battle as each has the drive to emerge victorious and cart home the larger spoils for the day. The “Get In The Ring” startup competition is a globally recognised brand competition where start-ups are chosen to represent themselves against other start-ups, doing picthcing battles one-on-one with each other in the ring.

In South Africa, nine finalists have been chosen from a total of 3 different provinces (at 3 each from each province) and these would be expected to do battle against each other. According to provinces and in no particular order, the start-ups are as shown below.

Gauteng Province

•Adfire Creative M3dia (James Sands): a 3D illusions creation app for users.
•UmoyAir (Sapho Maqhwazima): a cross network, free mobile call platform.
•Tousca ( Dorian Toussaint): a global ground transport aggregator using a unique online tool.

Western Cape

•Stokvella (Sebastian Daniels): an Stokvel market regulation app designed to build trust through a system of accountability and transparency.
•AdCanvas: Branded coffee cups with insignia or for a particular campaign message.
•SnappSales (Karen Wessels): an innovative outsourced sales support.

North West Province
•Phat Pat Catering (Patricia Esterhuizen): consulting for the catering industry.
•NewTech Rail (Jan Jooste): cheaper and more effective overhead systems for increased train speed.
•Solar Bliss (William Hartzer): solar systems.

The final battle in the ring would be from the 17th to 18th of November this 2015 and the winner would emerge the regional winner to represent South Africa at continental level in January of 2016.
