A new cloud infrastructure provider headed by former Angani CEO Phares Kariuki has launched in Nairobi. Kariuki’s startup Node Africa has partnered with VMware to sell vCloud and Microsoft to sell the Office 365 and Azure cloud services .
Node Africa hopes that through its partnership with VMware, a leading company in cloud environment, they can establish a name in the cloud computing market where Amazon Web Services is dominating.
With a staff of six, Node Africa targets small businesses wanting to get online and active operators with limited budget allotted for IT operations.
Since IT cost tend to hinder companies in their decision in making it their priority, the company believes that having a local cloud service provider that understands Kenya’s model of business gives them advantage.
