One of Nigeria’s fastest growing internet service providers, Smile Communications Nigeria Limited, has partnered with Samsung Electronics to launch the country’s first LTE compliant smartphone.
Smile, Nigeria’s first 4G LTE provider, is reportedly the first Nigerian communications company to be partnering with the South Korean smartphone outfit to enhance service delivery in smartphone business.
Both companies, represented by Alero Ladipo, Chief Marketing Officer of Smile Nigeria and Emmanouil Revmatas, Director of Information Technology and Mobile of Samsung West Africa, in a joint statement said the step was taken in line with Smile’s vision of providing superfast and reliable internet services in Nigeria.
Speaking on the partnership, Mrs. Alero said: “The customer experience at our shops should create a lasting impression with the customer. A customer must enjoy the simplicity of the service and leave ready-to-go. Our partnership with Samsung gives the customer the opportunity to own the latest Samsung LTE compliant smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S6 edge with a Samsung complimentary clear cover), a 5GB bundle SmileOn plan for a fixed price,” Ladipo added.
On his part, Revmatas said his company is committed to partnering with companies that “highlight innovations that create an impact in the life of consumers.”
“This partnership with Smile on S6 Edge will give Nigerians the opportunity to drive productivity with a unique smartphone coupled with the 4G experience that Smile LTE network offers,” said Revmatas.
