Tigo rolls out 4G network in Rwanda

Tigo has devised new ways to make its customers even happier by announcing the release of the 4G broadband on all smartphones that supports the service. This means that for all devices that are carried by Tigo Rwanda and have the capability of supporting the 4G network, they would have it available to them.

This newest development from Tigo was announced at the Transform African Summit that held in Kigali makes Tigo the first service provider that offers its customers uninterrupted and on-the-go 4G services.

In attendance at the presentation by Tigo were dignitaries such as Rwanda’s ICT Minister, Hon Jean Philbert Nsengimana, Cynthia Gordon, Executive Vice President, Millicom – Africa Division alongside Tongai Maramba, Chief Executive Officer, Tigo Rwanda and Mr. Patrick Yoon, CEO, Olleh Rwanda Networks.

“Transform Africa is the right platform for us to present the biggest 4G LTE news since 4G in Rwanda, ” the Chief Executive Officer of Tigo Rwanda has expressed his excitement on the newest launch.

“Allowing our customers to take 4G high speed internet with them without interrupting voice services aligns well with the summit focus this year – ‘Accelerating digital innovation’. As Rwanda’s leading Telecommunications and Internet provider, I am delighted that we have attained this milestone,” he added.

The 4G-enabled SIM cards from Tigo would be in support of Data and Voice calls and interested users can get them from all Tigo Centers around at just 1000 RWF.
