Online TV is really gaining grounds everywhere and they seem to be the new in-thing now. Having the access and resources to bring all its users and subscribers diverse news from wherever in the world, Online TV surely has a ‘reach’ edge over local network TVs. It is on the back of this that a new online TV platform has been announced in South Africa, which is said to be one of the first of its kind in the country.
TMTV-SA, as the online TV platform has been named, promises to be “inclusive platform designed to have something appealing and interesting for all South Africans”. This was made public at the event of announcing the launch of the online TV which has also come with a dedicated mobile app.
The founder of the TMTV programme, L. Christian Amougou , has also chipped in a word or two saying “Additionally, our mission is to produce positive, happy TV. We will leave the reporting of bad news to other outlets”.
Part of the promises of the online TV is to provide “cutting-edge and original programmes with homegrown talent”, “finally place the viewer in control” (which it plans to implement by allowing viewers watch shows that they have demanded) and also being with viewers on the go via the mobile app.
