Uber Kenya and Seedstars World have jointly announced a partnership that will accept one more startup for the forthcoming Seedstars World Startup Competition in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
The partnership will provide entrepreneurs travelling in Uber between 6:00am on Monday, 21st September and 9:00am on Tuesday, 22nd September 2015 the opportunity to record a startup pitch and get the chance of being invited to pitch at the Seedstars World Startup Competition in Nairobi on the 2nd of October 2015 at the iHub.
The Regional Manager Africa at Seedstars World, Marcello Schermer said, “We’re thrilled about partnering with Uber. Together we are giving every entrepreneur in Nairobi who has a great start up the opportunity to win a last minute spot at our competition. We are excited to see what ideas come out of Nairobi.”
Entrepreneurs that are interested in taking part should download the Uber app; request a ride, record 60 seconds business pitch with a phone while introducing the Uber driver. They are further expected to post the pitch to the Facebook page of Seedstars World, share it on Facebook while tagging Uber Nairobi and using the #UberSeed. The goal is to compete to be the winning entrepreneur.
The winning pitch will be announced on Tuesday 22nd, while the winner will pitch at the Nairobi event and earn a chance to head to Geneva, Switzerland to take part in the 2016 global finals of the Seedstars World Startup Competition.
