Uganda launches one stop web portal for easy access of government services

The Government of Uganda, through the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), initiated eBiz, a One Stop Centre web portal which paves way for fast and convenient access to government services.

This initiative by Uganda is in track with worldwide best practices for effective and efficient data sharing among different government agencies. This move is forecasted to increase the business ventures of the nation.

The eBiz web portal will enable traders, entrepreneurs, and investors to apply permits and licenses which are necessary for doing business in Uganda. List of requirements for applications are specified to make it a reliable source of information for all applicants.

Services offered include guiding information for Foreign Investors and Local Entrepreneurs, applying for Land title verification/ search letter, applying for Business Name Reservation, and assessment and provision of payment slip for services applied.

The agencies that are actively involved in the eBiz project include Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) and others.
