This autumn, users of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in the UK will be able to enjoy Wi-Fi calling as Vodafone UK is planning on rolling out this service for the said smartphones.
Vodafone UK says this feature has been successfully tested and works perfectly even in remotest places like the London Underground, basements and even older buildings with thick walls. What makes this more interesting is that Vodafone had just rolled out its 4G+ and HD Voice services only recently. These services significantly enhance the quality of voice calls when performed over a Wi-Fi network.
Vodafone UK was only offering support for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices but will now be adding the latest Samsung’s smart phones to the list. You don’t need to download and install any apps at all as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge come fitted with this feature.
To make Wi-Fi voice calls on these devices, simply upgrade them with the latest OTA software update you should see at your Settings > About phone > Updates . Connect to a Wi-Fi network and switch on the Wi-Fi Calling feature from the settings menu and you are good to go.
